About me

I was born in 1961 in Germany. Since then I have lived in Italy, Germany, Belgium and Iceland. I've studied English and American literature and have been working in various, completely different jobs. Lately I have mostly been teaching. Throughout the years I have been writing poetry. I have also been taking pictures most of my life but only recently the hobby has become a passion. So now I am studying photographic art at the Academy in Bruges. On the one hand I am trying to link photography to my poetry, and on the other hand it gives me a new, visual way of expressing myself. As my life has been a chain of what often appear to be coincidences, so my photos sometimes seem to consist of visual coincidences, where I am the innocent bystander, the silent witness, who struggles to hold on to something that can never be truly saved. The ultimate lesson, as always, is to let go...
